Company Is Comin’

FEEDBACK ON THOROUGHBROAD STORIES….

I thought your writing was delightful! As I read your experience I could envision the places you were going and the foods you were eating and I could sense the joy in your experience with all of it. I thought you brought the words to life and I really enjoyed it!

What a thrill to receive a great testimonial on our trip to Claudia Sander’s Dinner House last month. Scarlett and Robyn will enjoy each other’s company in Kentucky again in December. This year there are so many festivals, dining opportunities, holiday parties, and open houses that their calendar is filling the 10-day trip up fast. Robyn’s birthday is Dec 7th and we will celebrate it with the same couple we enjoyed our dinner house family-style meal with in October. Currently, we are looking into a place in Midway, KY that is just that, midway between Louisville and Lexington.

Did you know that Kentucky has a Paris, a Versailles, a little town called Monkey’s Eyebrow, another named None Such that is home to a fabulous restaurant named The Glitz (our plan was to dine there but reservations are full now until the end of the year), Mud Lick, Chicken Bristle, Whoopie Hill, Marrowbone, and Cut Shin are just a few of the treasure trove of city names within the Bluegrass Commonwealth. I bet most have a café or a community diner with menus having at least one item unique to their area. Scarlett and Robyn will be on the hunt for you during 2025 to bring some “Foodiefridayfriends” stories to read.

In the meantime, enjoy your Turkey month with your family and friends and look back over this blog for Thanksgiving stories from years past. We appreciate your feedback, always.
